From the Bride: Steven and I are middle school sweethearts so we feel incredibly blessed to be getting married and share the weekend with our family and friends! We are from Fort Lauderdale but chose to celebrate in Charleston- our favorite city. The vision for the weekend was to have a 3-day celebration, showing our family and friends our favorite things about the city- welcoming them on a sunset sail followed by a welcome party downtown and then our wedding day in the low-country. The vision for the wedding day was to have modern and romantic elements with southern touches.
I don’t know where to begin with the Kessler’s incredible wedding weekend! From start to finish Kristen thoughtfully planned every detail and each moment was filled with sentimentality and joy. It was unique to celebrate with a couple that has been together for so long – it’s a rarity and a beautiful testament to their love and the legacy they are already leaving. Most of their family and friends were also friends with one another, which shows you the kind of people that Kristen and Steven are. They don’t know a stranger, and even our team felt like one of the family by the time the weekend was over. We loved every minute we spent with this sweet couple and they were easy to celebrate!
Kristen had an amazing vision for their weekend – their custom monogram was carried throughout each of the events: from the vow books to the cocktail napkins and couch cushions, to Steven’s cufflinks and even on to their custom Nikes that they changed into for the sparkler exit! Their names were displayed along with their hashtag on the American theater in the morning so that all of Charleston would know their day was finally here. They honored their families with several special elements – including infinity necklaces for each of their mothers to symbolize their love and support throughout the years, and calling their mothers up during the ceremony to thank them for their investment in their lives. Kristen wore earrings from her grandmother and a ring passed down from Steven’s mother so that both families were represented throughout the day. After the ceremony a horse and carriage awaited them to take them to cocktail hour to celebrate with their guests. Kristen changed into two different gowns – a sleek, high neck dress for dancing, and a sequined dress for the getaway and after party. Their reception included many surprises as well – including a t-shirt toss from the stage, customized air brushed hats for each guest in attendance as a souvenir from the weekend and the neon sign behind the band featured a phrase in Steven’s handwriting that he had written in Kristen’s middle school yearbook: “I love you more than anything.”
I could go on and on about every part of their wedding weekend but I’ll let the images share the rest of the story. Mr. & Mrs. Kessler – we count ourselves the lucky ones to have been able to share in your celebration and to get to know you both and your amazing friends and family. What a gift to document a day that has been anticipated for so long for a couple who couldn’t be more deserving of all the love and joy that the world has to offer. We know the best is yet to come for you guys and we couldn’t be happier for you!
