From the bride: “My original inspiration for the day was a romantic summer garden with lots of light colors and airy fabrics. We have included a lot of florals at the reception as well as a floral wall backdrop behind the band. Our favors are cookies in the shape of birds (“love birds”) to go with this theme. We have kept that same theme/décor idea but now in October. Erik and I first met our freshman year of high school but did begin dating until our senior year at Purdue – we were always just friends! It’s crazy to think we have even known each other for that long/much of our lives! We got engaged in Paris in 2019 and I think I drew a lot of my wedding inspiration from the gardens of Paris as well!”
Meagan and Erik’s October wedding day could not have been more beautiful. While they had to delay their original date due to Covid, they did not allow the changes to dishearten them, and created a magical and memorable day with their friends and families. Under the talented direction of Boldly Chic Events, the vendor team pulled together an incredible floral dream in the vision of the Parisian gardens that Meagan was inspired by. Solstice Floral created thoughtful, whimsical beauties from the bride’s bouquet to the blooming centerpieces and greenery everywhere the eye could see – creating a fairytale garden for the guests to enter into. Athena Street Creative designed a beautiful monogram for the couple that was carried throughout their day – from the invitation suite to the napkins, the cookie favors and the menus. Each piece was thoughtfully crafted and tied together Meagan’s elegant and timeless theme for her romantic garden setting.
At the last minute we decided to shoot at Newfields, even though storm clouds were hovering on the horizon, and I couldn’t be happier that Meagan and Erik chose to trust me and give it a try! We had the most beautiful light and cloud coverage and their portraits are perfectly elegant and filled with light and joy.
Meagan and Erik – I’m sending all my love to you both – you are an incredible couple and two of the kindest people I’ve met. It was obvious to everyone in the room how much you two adore each other and care for those around you, and I am so lucky to know you and to have played a small part in your magical celebration. I hope you enjoy this glimpse of your day and the reminder that your love is already creating a beautiful legacy for years to come!
