I can hardly believe it’s the start of my 2021 wedding season! After a long and crazy year it felt amazing to be back doing what I loved with the hope of the future and all that this year will hopefully hold. And honestly, Lexi and Roscoe could not have been a better couple to kick the season off with!

While we didn’t meet in person until a day before the wedding at their engagement session, I already knew I was going to love them! During our consult Lexi told me she was at one of the first Indianapolis weddings I ever shot and had followed my work ever since, knowing I would be her photographer when her time came to be married. Honestly, I’ve never been paid a higher compliment and was so thrilled to the one to document these moments for her!

Lexi and Roscoe brought me to Nashville, Tennessee for their big weekend and it was perfectly beautiful from start to finish. These two are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet – kind and gracious, hospitable and loving, immediately welcoming and just so much fun to be around. You can tell their love for each other is deep and strong and will stand the test of time. I doubt they’ve ever met a stranger as they put you at ease and welcome you in as though they’ve known you forever – and it showed by the size of their bridal party (11 men and 10 ladies!) that was mainly made up of friends from all stages of life. Originally, their wedding day called for pouring rain from start to finish – but even with this forecast, they both said that getting married was what they were most excited about, and no matter what the weather decided to do, they knew it would be an incredible day and wouldn’t let anything deter their excitement for their marriage to begin. I loved their perspective, and it honestly shaped the whole day – it was filled with peace, excitement and anticipation. We had several periods of time without rain to create beautiful portraits, but even when the skies opened up and the rain began, Lexi and her girls laughed through it all – truly embracing whatever came their way with a joy I admired!

Mr. & Mrs. Anderson, you two are something special. What an absolute joy to bear witness to your love for one another and to capture this moment in time as you became one and embarked on the greatest journey you will ever take. I’m blown away by your kindness and thoughtfulness towards my team and I, and truly hope that our paths will cross again soon. What a beautiful future lies ahead of you, and I hope these images will serve as heirlooms to look back on fondly with every year that passes. All my love to you both!
